Vectrus Fire Truck Apparatus Mechanic in Kuwait

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under thegeneral supervision of the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Supervisor, thisposition is responsible for the recovery, repair/replace, maintenance andservices of Fire Trucks and mini pumper squad trucks, throughout the Kuwait-theaterof operations in support of the KBOSSS Contract.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:Please list by order of priority and, if possible,provide the percentage of time spent on the activity all should equal 100%.

1.Services, diagnoses, repairs and maintainstandem drive axles with air.

2.Tunes gas and diesel engines, services fuelfilters and turbo chargers.

3.Maintains service logs and records of firetruck apparatuses, Keeps tools equipment and work area clean organized and ingood working condition.

4.Diagnose problems, disassembles fire truckaccessories, make repairs or replace parts.

5.Brakes, repairs or shoes replacement, pads ,drums, hoses, calipers, and heavy duty air brakes.

6.Electrical repairs or replace fuses,batteries, lights instruments, warning devices, controls and switches, modules,alternators, starter, and defective cables and wiring.

7.Performs other related duties as assigned.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Test Equipment used in troubleshooting Equipmentmalfunctions, General Tools from Sets, Kits and Outfits, Proper Protection Gearand Technical or Other Manuals in support of the Tasks assigned. May be taskedto use Computers, Microsoft Office software products, legacy software productsand standard office equipment/machinery.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Duties may occasionally involveworking outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee useof personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPEincludes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, andhearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulationsand post policies

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work may require heavy liftingup, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working withor in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical orbiological agents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required.

HighSchool Graduate. Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Level I.

KuwaitHeavy Equipment Driver’s License Required or able to Obtain.

Experience:

Four- Five (4-5) years experience on fire trucks and ability to pass emergencyvehicle technician certification

Skills:

1.Mustpossess ability to assess possible-damage risks to inoperable equipment whilebeing towed or transported.

2.Mustbe able to safely and effectively operate hydraulic equipment and powerwinches.

3.Mustbe able to read military and civilian maps

4.Knowhow to use all forms of test equipment related to the job

5.Must be able to work effectively with alllevel of employee.

6.Requires a collaborative work style, fosteringcooperation and teamwork.

7.Must be able to exercise discretion and goodjudgment particularly when transporting vehicles.
