Vectrus Fire Truck Apparatus Mechanic in Kuwait

Under the general supervision of the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Supervisor, this position is responsible for the recovery, repair/replace, maintenance and services of Fire Trucks and mini pumper squad trucks, throughout the Kuwait-theater of operations in support of the KBOSSS Contract.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:Please list by order of priority and, if possible, provide the percentage of time spent on the activity all should equal 100%.
1.Services, diagnoses, repairs and maintains tandem drive axles with air.
2.Tunes gas and diesel engines, services fuel filters and turbo chargers.
3.Maintains service logs and records of fire truck apparatuses, Keeps tools equipment and work area clean organized and in good working condition.
4.Diagnose problems, disassembles fire truck accessories, make repairs or replace parts.
5.Brakes, repairs or shoes replacement, pads , drums, hoses, calipers, and heavy duty air brakes.
6.Electrical repairs or replace fuses, batteries, lights instruments, warning devices, controls and switches, modules, alternators, starter, and defective cables and wiring.
7.Performs other related duties as assigned.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Test Equipment used in troubleshooting Equipment malfunctions, General Tools from Sets, Kits and Outfits, Proper Protection Gear and Technical or Other Manuals in support of the Tasks assigned. May be tasked to use Computers, Microsoft Office software products, legacy software products and standard office equipment/machinery.
Duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School Graduate. Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Level I.
Kuwait Heavy Equipment Driver’s License Required or able to Obtain.
Four - Five (4-5) years experience on fire trucks and ability to pass emergency vehicle technician certification
1.Must possess ability to assess possible-damage risks to inoperable equipment while being towed or transported.
2.Must be able to safely and effectively operate hydraulic equipment and power winches.
3.Must be able to read military and civilian maps
4.Know how to use all forms of test equipment related to the job
5.Must be able to work effectively with all level of employee.
6.Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
7.Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment particularly when transporting vehicles.
