Oracle Principal Technical Product Manager in Italy
Job Description
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

This would be a Principal Technical Product Manager. The person in this role would work closely with engineering teaming by capturing the customer requirements, articulating the business value, and driving the product roadmap and execution. So we’re looking for someone fairly technical that, today, typically might have a Software Engineer or Support Engineer title.
In general, the person in this role must have a positive, “get it done” attitude. Strong diplomacy skills are essential.
Direct experience with operating system software, server virtualization software, and closely related network and storage technologies in an enterprise class environment and/or with an enterprise class product.
Significant experience with Java-based management software, i.e. system management or infrastructure management software a strongly desired
Significant hands-on experience with Linux
Significant hands-on experience with KVM, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager and Oracle Cloud Native Environment.
Significant hands-on on RPM building process.
Good working knowledge of clustering, filesystem, and management software desired
Candidate ideally has experience working in customer/engineering facing role, e.g. Consulting, Product Management, Support etc
Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to clearly communicate next steps with engineering and to be able to create engineering-facing documentation, e.g. product requirements and use cases.
