Oracle Software Development Snr Manager in India

Job Description

As Senior Manager for Oracle Banking Cloud Services, you will lead the SRE team, collaborating with AMS, product engineering and SaaS DevOps to improve system scalability, reliability, and developer efficiency. Your focus is on building reliability and observability into our services from the start. Additionally, you'll create operational runbooks for faster incident resolution and manage OBCS service tickets, prioritizing work based on business impact.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the AMS/SRE team, setting direction and strategy.

  • Deploy software to SaaS environments, aiming to enhance Oracle product and service availability, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Tackle intricate challenges related to cloud infrastructure, proactively implementing automation to prevent recurring issues.

  • Design, architect, and establish standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems.

  • Support service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system optimization.

  • Collaborate within the development team, taking full-stack ownership of specific services or technology areas. Understand end-to-end configurations, technical dependencies, and service behavior.

  • Communicate technical attributes of services and technology domains, directing development teams to enhance internal Oracle services.

  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for uncharted complex or critical issues not covered by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Leverage an in-depth grasp of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot problems and propose solutions.

  • Comprehend and articulate the impact of product architecture decisions on microservices-based cloud-native SaaS services.

  • Understand and Maintain SaaS application availability, Recovery Time Objective (RTO), and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) in the context of incidents and system downtime.

  • Participate in a 24x7 On Call rotation, providing support for the OBCS SaaS Suite.

  • Demonstrate professional curiosity and a strong desire to develop an in-depth understanding of services and technologies.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the banking and financial services sector.

  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in deploying, monitoring, and supporting cloud-based (IaaS/PaaS) and SaaS applications, including expertise in Kubernetes and Docker deployments.

  • Proficiency in managing fully managed, fault-tolerant, highly available, high-throughput, multi-tenant, and scalable systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute interim patches and hotfixes with precision.

  • High-level knowledge of Oracle database administration and operations.

  • Familiarity with Monitoring and Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OCI Logging, or similar solutions like ELK.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline management, including experience with GitLab.

  • Experience in deploying SaaS services across multiple Fault Domains (FD), Availability Domains (AD), and Availability Regions (AR).

  • Understanding of web application security practices and a broad knowledge of network topology.

  • Capacity management expertise in SaaS environments.

  • Proven experience with Agile development methodologies.

  • Strong team player with a keen interest in learning and implementing new Cloud technologies as required.

  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
