Job Summary

Provides strategic direction and leadership for Sun Pharma API Safety, Health and Environment Teams and other EHS initiatives .

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Assures continuous performance improvement in EHS towards building the culture of safety and Overall sustainability of EHS process. 2. Lead various internal organizational teams/committees that help to develop and deploy SHE policies and objectives across the organisation. 3. Guide the sites to implement global EHS standards and EHS interim actions

  5. Team Management (as a team leader hand holding and guiding all sites to meet EHS requirements)

  6. To guide the plant personnel to implement the Corporate Environment &Sustainability standards, procedures (Water management,waste water management, Hazardous waste management, Non hazardous waste management,Air pollution control,Climate change,Sustainability etc)

  7. To identify EHS risks during New product development/introduction/new plant construction

  8. To Maintain Process safety Database and Best Practices.

  9. Ensure PHA (Process Hazard Analysis / HAZOP study is conducted for all the processes and enfore implementation of Out come of Hazard study to stengthen the process safety. 12 Ensure the implementation of change control procedures by implementing desired safety measures to control all major/ critical changes in the in case of scale up of new batches OR any change in the existing process/products/facilities.

13.To create EHS Awareness by craeting a competitive environment among the sites by reviewing and scoring each site based on their EHS performace through culture meter score and rewarding / recognising the performers.

  1. Training / capability development system (Imparting training ,guiding and coaching site EHS team to improve their technical skills in EHS)

  2. Coordinate with site EHS team to ensure EHS regulatory compliance at each site and guide the site team in case of any support required for improvement of the compliance level . 16 :Update Site EHS team by sharing / guiding the new / latest updates on legal requirement related to EHS. 17: Extending support to site EHS team during any presentation / meeting with legulatory authorities on need based.

  3. Share Industrial EHS Database and Best Practices anong the EHS team and encourage / motivate for good EHS initiatives at sites.

  4. To make a monitoring system to ensure that standards are in place and in use 24 hrs 365 days. 20 : Periodically conducting review meeting with EHS team of all sites through periodic site visits and through Team Meeting / Teleconfereces.

  5. To develop and track regional EHS budget.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

A graduate degree in chemical/mechanical/electrical / Environmental engineering OR Master in Science in Chemistry /Environmental Science with Pst graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety Management with at least 20 years of EHS experience in API/Petrochemical / Chemical operations.

Specific Certification

Understanding of product manufacturing.

Skills

1: EHS standard implementation knowledge on ISO-14001,OHSAS-18001/ISO-45001,Sustainability standard etc.

2: Statutory Requirements on EHS for API industries perticularly Factories Act/ Rules,PESO rules,Gas Cylinder Rules,SMPV rules,Environment Protection rules/ Guidlines and the requirements.

3: Safety health environment, fire , Industrial Health & hygiene Risk Assessments in API .

4: Sustainability reporting gudelines .

5: Advance / adequate knowledge on the Water,waste water,soild waste and air pollution tearment and abatement management.

6: Knowledge on occupational hygiene and health related to API industries specific to Oculational Heath Category for varrious API powders and their control measures.

7: Best Practices in EHS related to API manufacturing.

8: Process safety knowledge on Crtical Reactions like Hydrogenation,Grignard ,Nitration,Azide etc. 9: Process Safety Informations and Risk assesment tools like PHA/ HAZOP/FMEA/Fault Tree analysis etc.

10: Training knowledge & skill on EHS related topics like Behavior based safety , process safety,ESD control,Risk analysis,Environment Protection and EHS related regulations etc.
