Description and Requirements

Summary

Data Asset team is looking for a solution developer with a solid technical background in design, develop, and maintain event-driven applications on cloud, and to build and support cloud based data platform. Our platform enables internal engineers and analysts to process SQL or transformations using Apache Spark, Python on compute for batch, streaming and ML processing, executing over schemaed data stored in data lake and data warehouse. Our team manages data ingestions from various data sources, build and support ETL pipelines, and continuously look for solutions to enhance the robustness and scalability of the data architecture.

The Job

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining event-driven applications on cloud platforms.

  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Python or Java.

  • Utilizing pySpark and other big data processing technologies to handle large datasets efficiently.

  • Building event-driven microservices using Restful API and integrating with pub/sub/streaming technologies such as Kafka.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving software defects or issues in a timely manner.

  • Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

The Person

  • Hands-on experience in building event-driven applications on cloud platforms.

  • Solid coding skills in Python or Java.

  • Strong understanding of pySpark and experience with big data processing is a plus.

  • Experience in building event-driven microservices integrated with cloud managed services such as API Gateway, event bus, NoSQL database

  • Experience developing serverless application architecture

  • Familiarity with pub/sub/streaming technologies such as Kafka

  • Familiarity with design data model on NoSQL database

  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS, GCP, Azure or other cloud services.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive.

  • Effective verbal and written communication in English and Chinese

  • Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Forward thinking, embracing changes, fast-learning, energetic, able to perform in challenging environment
