Ford Motor Company Quality Engineering Lead-Ford Pro Charging (EU) in United Kingdom

The ideal candidate is an experienced charging professional and electrical engineer who will contribute to driving the quality and engineering aspects of our home and depot charging solutions. We need to establish a strategy that will shape your team and processes to ensure that we are providing the highest quality engineering experience for our customers whether that relates to the products, services or our L3 engineering aftersales experience. The Quality Engineering Lead is expected to possess deep working understanding of charging installations linked to smart back office SAAS functionalities as well as the wider world of clean tech and renewable energy markets across Europe.

What you will be doing:

  • Be the undisputed champion for quality engineering covering all product and service offerings including L3 aftersales

  • Create and document a clear strategy to create quality engineering processes to rival the reliability of our vehicles

  • Work collaboratively with product and other team stakeholders to create a robust L3 aftersales solution working with L1 and L2 levels to ensure the best possible customer experience to resolve their issues promptly, whilst documenting root causes for a continuous improvement process

  • Inform the overall Ford Pro Charging strategy, to share learnings to support other elements of our team and our wider colleagues within Ford

  • Manage your team to input toward and successfully execute your strategic plans

  • Develop plans to test in market to prove concepts before gaining buy in to rollout successful ideas to the multiple countries that we currently operate in across Europe

  • Monitor the marketplace for ideas and concepts that we could learn from and adapt to make our processes, more robust, efficient and ultimately to deliver a better experience for all of our customers

  • Build processes and systems that can be scaled for volume and where possible automate processes using the system tools that we have or may choose to develop or add

  • Oversee and lead the entire testing, quality and L3 engineering strategy collaborating closely with operations, product, sales, marketing and other cross functional teams to deliver class leading, robust, quality focused customer experiences

  • Establish robust, documented testing procedures for hardware and software solutions, working with our colleagues in North America to share our findings to find better ways to collaborate for the future and to successfully get products and services to market within agreed timeframes

  • Work closely with the product team to share test findings, to ensure we are working with the very best partners to achieve our ultimate aims to offer quality EV charging solutions and to make us an easy company to work with, but demanding in terms of what we ask from our partners!

  • Work with our salesforce system to ensure that your team document and complete resolution tasks in a timely manner, seeking and implementing continuous improvement into your processes as we gather data and insight

  • Use data to deliver key learnings from the L3 cases that we have and work across L1 and L2 to use these findings to support our colleagues at all levels to make their processes more efficient and to enable them to deliver quicker resolutions before reaching L3

  • Support training processes for the wider Ford Pro Charging team and for our wider colleagues within Ford and within the National Sales Companies and dealers that we work with across Europe

  • Travel across Europe to visit customers and other Ford sites to collaborate across the Ford pillars with regards to EV charging testing and quality engineering and aftersales processes

  • Experience and passion for Health and Safety in an electrical engineering environment

  • Support our conversations with partners to supply feedback to enhance the quality of the products and services that they support us with.

The minimum requirement we seek:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in electrical engineering, potentially coming from an installation/testing environment with strong domain experience in EV charging and wider electrical engineering - this is a must-have requirement.

  • 3+ years team management experience

  • Experience working as an operational manager in the EV charging or an associated technology for B2B enterprise level accounts

  • Extensive industry knowledge of charging software and hardware products to understand how Ford Pro fares against our competition

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with an ability to read, interpret and understand technical requirements

  • A highly detailed understanding of the regulated world of EV charging installations, in particular for the UK, Germany and France

  • Experience and understanding of quality processes in the electrical engineering space

  • Must be able to collaborate with customers, product leads, design leads, sales, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to contribute to the best customer quality output experience

  • Influence product/process direction through effective storytelling that conveys a compelling team vision to secure buy-in from cross-product stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively work across all levels in an agile manner to achieve organisational objectives, making and articulating decisions, while listening to feedback

  • Ability to multi-task, context switch and self-prioritize tasks based on demand and organisation priorities

  • Experience using data and insights to drive toward successful quality testing and customer experience outcomes
