DataRobot Engineering Manager in Germany

Job Description:

DataRobot accelerates building predictive models to get the most out of valuable data. We work hard to create tools that data scientists can use effectively. Our headquarters is in Boston, with offices in Kyiv, Munich, and various other locations around the globe.

As an Engineering Manager in our Machine Learning Development department, you will support the distributed cross-functional team that owns various parts of DataRobot’s machine learning platform and actively contribute to the development of new capabilities. This team developed and released ML features like Visual AI, Text AI, Multimodal Clustering and others.

What does it take?

  • Lead one of the Core ML teams that are responsible for our AutoML product

  • Own the roadmap, backlog and help driving the team work

  • Facilitate technical design of the new components and be a tie breaker

  • Partner with other DataRobot teams to deliver a consistent platform

  • Do weekly 1x1s, coach, inspire and develop engineers on the team

Main Requirements

  • 2+ years of managing 5 people or more

  • Technical background and engineering experience - we don’t expect engineering managers to code, but they should be technical enough to support their team efficiently

  • Understanding of software design for scalability, performance, and reliability

  • Excellent communication skills and can connect with both technical and non-technical audiences effectively

  • Knowledge of various project management techniques and ability to choose the best tool for the situation

Bonus Requirements

  • 5+ years of development experience

  • Publicly reviewable contributions to exciting development projects

  • Experience with Machine Learning field

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
