V2X Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) in Bahrain

Overview

The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for the development and/or review ofthe Accident Prevention Plan (APP), activity hazard analysis’s, amendments to the accidentprevention plan, on site safety education, toolbox safety meetings, all around safetycompliance of the project, and a proactive innovative attitude towards solving difficult sitespecificsafety issuesThe SSHO is responsible for managing, implementing, and enforcing the project AccidentPrevention Plan. The SSHO provides full-time on-site safety and occupational healthmanagement, surveillance, inspections, training, and safety enforcement.You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal health and safetyguidelines and procedures. You will ensure the safety of all employees, make sure all projectsare meeting safety requirements and provide advice and recommendations for safetyimprovements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and EM 385 1-1• Create and implement site specific APP for construction per EM 385 1-1• Create and review Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Work Plans.• Ensure all safety submittals required are created, submitted, and approved by theGDA well in advance of scheduled preparatory meetings.• Perform site inspections and observations through the entirety of the shift• Provide project safety orientations and briefs• Document Weekly Safety Meetings, Weekly Inspections, Deficiencies and CorrectiveActions, Man Hours Worked and any Incidents• Lead and document Near Miss and Incident Investigations / Root Cause Analysis• Develop and implement OHS training programs• Serve as Environmental Officer when required• Oversee disposal of substances according to environmental guidelines• Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met• Enforce all safety and environmental policies and procedures• Serve as the Drug testing POC when required to do so

Qualifications

30-Hour OSHA Construction Industry 40-Hour HAZWOPER 1st Aid/CPR40-Hour EM 385.1.1 Site Safety & Health Officer CertificatePreferred:Bachelor Degree3-5 Years’ Safety related experience
