We are seeking experienced Utility Networks - Application Engineers to join our team in Dubai .

What you’ll do:

As a Utility Networks - Application Engineer , you will work closely with and support the commercial sales organizations (in the region and/or strategic accounts) and a network of internal and external suppliers to build winning tenders for product and projects that Eaton is confident to execute at target profitability.

Utilizing a strong electrical knowledge you will be seen as an expert in the design considerations for key electrical packages for power distribution, backup power, and other typically Medium Voltage (MV) requirements for Distribution Grid and similar applications.

Your engagement with customers may start already in the design considerations phase, but more typically will entail leading our response to tenders where you will ensure a proper go/no-go, and then as needed engage internal and external stakeholders to build an offer, run tender reviews, and produce the tender response for the customers.

You will often follow up tender offers with presentation to customers and work though refinements as needed until tender close. When a tender is awarded to Eaton, you will participate actively in the formal handover to the execution teams, detailing out what was agreed and any known or possible risks to be managed.

Key expectations for this role:

  1. Provide technical expertise of product offers and how they apply to end use applications such as Distribution Grid Customer Centric - Engage with targeted customer engineering and/or consultants.

  2. Work with Sales team to understand focal customer business challenges and how to sell technical concepts.

  3. Work in a matrix environment with peers in Sales, Business Units, Projects, support and other relevant organizations.

  4. Build tenders that are clear and ensure alignment with key stakeholders on price points and selling strategy

  5. Utilize customer / presentation skills and ability to present to technical audiences on a white board or more formally if required.

  6. Engage in the Sales Process in qualification of opportunity, influencing design, coordinating technical responses and providing quotations.

  7. Work cross functionally with peers in relevant business units Lifecycle Support and Product Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor / Master Electrical Engineering Degree and/or Equivalent Industry experience

  • 5+ years of Electrical Engineering Experience (preferably knowledge of Distribution Grid product / design)

  • Automation knowledge and experience is strongly desired

Skills:

  • Team Player, Organizational skills, Working collaboratively, problem solver.

  • Strong Verbal and Written English.

  • Experience and expertise in Microsoft tools.
