The Procurement Sourcing Specialist plays a critical role in the procurement process by identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for the organization's goods and services. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supplier management and negotiation. The Sourcing Specialist ensures that the organization partners with reliable and high-quality suppliers to meet its procurement needs effectively and efficiently.

This position is housed at our Headquarters location in beautiful Virginia Beach, VA just a few miles back from the ocean! As aProcurement Sourcing Specialist, you will be allocated your own workspace that will allow for total focus but also easy access to other team members!

This is how you will play a key part in our GTS ecosystem:

  • Supplier Identification: Identify potential suppliers for the organization's goods and services through market research, supplier databases, and networking. Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, and performance to determine suitability for partnership.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assess supplier quality, reliability, and financial stability through supplier audits, site visits, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that meet the organization's needs and objectives. Drive cost savings and value creation through effective negotiation strategies.
  • Contract Management: Manage supplier contracts and agreements throughout their lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, monitor supplier performance, and address any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and partnership. Communicate effectively with suppliers to address concerns, resolve issues, and optimize performance.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and risk mitigation. Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to support sourcing decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve sourcing processes, procedures, and systems. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and value delivery.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze sourcing data and performance metrics to track supplier performance, measure cost savings, and identify areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate sourcing activities, results, and recommendations.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or 6+ years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier identification, evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of contract management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with contract types, including Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Materials (TandM), Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and ID/IQ contracting, as well as a diverse range of customers, including civilian and defense agencies
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sourcing data and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications

Beneficial Skill / Experience:

  • Knowledge of computer software (Costpoint and Qstrat)
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management [CPSM]).
  • Experience working with electronic procurement tools and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of market analysis and benchmarking techniques.

Educational Requirements (or equivalent):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or 6+ years in related experience.
