Navy Exchange Services (NEX) BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST in VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia

Title: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 240000RM Job Summary: Serves as the systems analyst for Data Warehouse Business Intelligence System software applications running on a variety of hardware environments. Supports application development through all cycles of implementation. Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens. - Develops application related documentation for BI (i.e. Test scenarios/scripts, test plans, design documents, instructional documents) - Coordinates and facilitates design reviews with BI end users and programming personnel. - Ensures compliance with configuration management standards and guidelines (i.e. Version control, release management). - Reports and tracks all BI testing processes and software related issues. - Provides functionality updates to key personnel on new patch releases, BI enhancements and new version releases - Serves as liaison between the helpdesk, systems administrators, database administrators and functional users. - Troubleshoots technical applications problems and coordinates resolution of problems with other support groups as well as application administrators. - Obtains regular processing reports to check for errors, assess/analyze errors and distinguishes between databases, application and customized application problems. - Assist with developing strategy for the installation and testing of major releases. - Perform testing on any and all fixes provided for application and abide by the SDLC process for promoting code thru the various environments. - Assist in providing supporting documentation for Data Warehouse systems. - Provides technical support for interfaces and troubleshoots and resolves any interface issues. - Respond to Service Desk Requests and incidents within the parameters set forth by NEXCOM SLA's. - Ensure/implement the rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software). - Moderate Travel may be required - Performs other related duties as assigned. This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI). Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in administrative, technical or investigative work which demonstrated the ability for problem solving, identifying factors, gathering pertinent information and recognizing solutions; accomplishing work that requires planning a logical sequence of steps; and the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience in technical, managerial or analytical work which demonstrated a knowledge of computer requirements and techniques; a background in analysis of organizational and functional relationships, workflow and procedures; and experience in developing modifications to existing management information systems which demonstrated the approach, techniques and requirements necessary of computer applications which included the planning, coordination and development of project controls.
