How your expertise will fit into GTS' world As an Assembler I you will produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

What your working environmentwill be like

The Assembler I position is housed at our Headquarters location at 421 South Birdneck Rd in Virginia Beach. This brand new state of the art building is built for efficiency and comfort.

You will be allocated your own workspace that will allow for total focus but also easy access to other team members!

  • Read and understand production documents and safety manuals

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with internal and external procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Current DoD security clearance, or ability to acquire and maintain a DoD security clearance, may be required.

Qualifications you have that would make you a great fit:

  • Communication proficiency; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both a verbal and written format
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaboration skills; Ability to work in a team environment
  • Capable of reading and understanding technical documents and safety manuals
  • Basic understanding of general hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to assemble mechanical assemblies using a variety of tools in accordance with technical data package and work instructions (written or verbal)
  • Ability to fabricate and install labels and other part markings in accordance with technical data package and work instructions (written or verbal)
  • Ability to keep detailed records and document serial numbers as well as other relevant data in accordance with technical data package and work instructions (written or verbal)
  • Understand calibration process
  • Identify the requirements for and demonstrate proper use of torque tools.
  • Reading and understanding prints and schematics
  • Industry knowledge/experience
