Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution Lean Improvement Engineer in Vienna, Ohio

LEAN IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER Location: Vienna, OH THE LEAN IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER WILL . . . Be responsible for disposition of non-compliant material through rework remediation or scrap determination. Primary operator support for material quality determination and routing reviews Aids development and deployment of visual management tools to support production goals Recommend process improvements using data analysis, lean manufacturing tools, and visual process controls to optimize quality, reduce lead time and eliminate waste Integrate appropriate tool use into recommendations (flow, quality, lead time, changeovers, waste elimination) Actively engaged in ensuring a safe workplace and continually emphasizes importance of safety Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LEAN IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER Four-year degree in Engineering discipline preferred. High School Diploma required. 1 year of engineering experience and/or lean working experience. College internship helpful towards working experience. Lean certifications preferred. Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prior knowledge of practical experience in a manufacturing / industrial setting with exposure to Lean Manufacturing operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequently changing priorities.
