The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is looking for a Lady or Gentlemen for the position of:
Groups & Events Director
We are looking for a dynamic leader who has a clear strategic sales approach and loves reactive sales as well as event and group planning. As our client base ranges from senior corporates, tour series to the entertainment sector, you should be an outgoing and sociable person who builds strong relationships with ease and creates a personalized service.
Responsibilities:
Leading the reactive sales team, including staff appraisals, staff planning, structure and organization
Responsible for achieving the group and banquet budget through a strategically sound pricing strategy to ensure optimal sales and the highest occupancy of our function rooms and hotel rooms
In communication and coordination with the sales and revenue team, the development of new and implementation of existing, sales-promoting strategies as well as adaptation of these with regard to the current room occupancy and booking situation of banquet rooms, calculation of room rentals, conference packages and packages
Implementing standards and ensuring the highest possible guest satisfaction
Preparation and approval of RFPs, forecasts, statistics and budgets
The Groups & Events Director performs key functions such as event management and related customer service, booking non-residential events from various lead sources. Through a proper handover process, the Groups & Events Director also oversees complete groups (both rooms and events) after the contract has been signed by the sales team.
The Groups & Events Director works closely with the hotel management (Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of F&B) and reports on operational matters, individual sales and services, as well as results of market surveys in the area of events sales. Our Groups & Events Director leads a team with responsibility for its management and development.
Your Competencies:
professional experience in a similar position within the luxury hotel industry
very good written and spoken English (German would be an advantage)
a valid work permit for Austria
good numeracy and communication skills
strong quality awareness and service orientation
open-minded and outgoing personality with leadership experience and resilience in peak times
strong organizational and rhetorical skills
sincere concern for the well-being of our customers and their wishes
well-groomed appearance and very good manners with our ladies and gentlemen
Confident handling of all MS Office programs, knowledge of OPERA as an advantage
