The Director European Transport and Customs manages the European transport control tower in charge of Transport, Customs and Pallets management operations across Europe. The role is accountable for operations, service delivery, financial performance as well as defining/driving continuous improvement to deliver year on year productivity. The position also requires strategy thinking and development of recommendations to senior management to generate buy-in for future initiatives.

How you will contribute

The jobholder is to manage of the European Load Control Centre by being responsible and accountable for the entire scope of the LCC Team. Through:

  • Developing LCC strategies and roadmaps.

  • Managing (planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring) all activities related to international transport, import finished goods customs clearance, pooling pallets management to ensure safety, availability and service delivery while meeting all internal (e.g. Mdlz Europe policies, KPI, costs) and external (e.g. customers, authorities) requirements.

  • Managing risk management, ensuring continuity of supply through demand forecasting, transportation capacity management and supplier relationships.

  • Leading, developing and delivering improvement processes and programs to enhance service and environmental impact, generate productivities and lower the overall unit cost of transport, customs costs and pallets for Mdlz Europe.

  • Working with key stakeholders to share performance and agree action plans to improve KPI’s and service. Key focus on environmental and productivity opportunities and service improvements by identifying and implementing CI programs, harnessing internal and external inputs.

  • Leading and supporting the development of the LCC team, providing vision and strategy to the whole team to ensure they deliver against individual and business targets. Developing the team in line with their potential.

  • Actively contributing to Logistics Procurement in supplier evaluation and biddings optimization to maximize value& service delivery for transportation, customs and Pallets.

  • Evaluating suppliers’ performance and working with them to ensure effective management, timely solutions, execution and continuous improvements.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • Engineering/logistics/business university degree.

  • Experience in Logistics Operations ideally with transport P&L management.

  • 15 years+ supply chain experience.

  • 8 years+ experience in leading and managing teams.

  • FMCG experience if possible or Logistic service provider ideally in transport control tower.

In return for your commitment, drive and enthusiasm, we offer salary starting from 6000 € plus annual bonus payment based on your performance. The final offer will depend on the skills and previous experience of the candidate. We also offer top attractive benefits.

Applicable to Austria

The salary is graded in the Collective Labor Agreement “Information and Consulting”. If you meet the mentioned requirements the entry gross-salary for this position will be EUR 105.000 per year, split up in 14 pays for full-time. We’re willing to overpay, dependent on your professional work experience and qualification.

The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland.
