VICTORIA ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE Accounting Specialist in Victoria, Texas

The Accounting Specialist will perform a variety of financial, administrative, and clerical tasks as an integral member of the Financial Services team.

The ideal candidates principal responsibilities include managing the efficiency of the accounts payable process and ensuring the accuracy of vendor invoicing and cooperative finances.

As part of the team, they will generate and submit weekly check runs, monthly electronic receivables and disbursement files and prepare reconciliation reports related to fleet, cooperative administrative expenditures and bank transactions.

Other miscellaneous tasks consist of financial statement audit preparation, balancing daily transaction reports, capital and operating budget analysis, fuel tax refunds, property tax, other accounts receivable billing and 1099s.

Successful Accounting Specialists will have a combination of social and technical skills including critical thinking, attention to detail, and have the ability to express oneself orally, in writing and work well as part of a team. Required qualifications include a high school diploma and proficiency in Microsoft Office Products; preferred experience involves knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining accurate general ledgers.
