We're currently hiring for open positions in the US and Canada. We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel® Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name. Analyze material availability and labor requirements in a timely and efficient manner to meet production requirements and ship dates. Provide leadership in developing, improving material movement and Production Control Processes that minimize investment while achieving Inventory and Scheduling goals.

Specific Duties:

  • Schedule Quotes from Customer Service through Quote Manage
  • Evaluate Expedite and De-Expedite requests for Customer Orders
  • Request expedites for purchased material as required
  • Process Change Orders as required
  • Understand the production capacity of each finite work center. Manage demand against the current production capacity of each finite work center and the production department as a whole
  • Negotiate achievable production schedules that meet both internal and external requirements. Create and maintain an excellent working rapport with all stakeholders
  • Evaluate the Capacity Report - and schedule special or large orders
  • Analyze and establish ship dates or acceptable alternative dates on all incoming demand for Sales Orders/Service Orders/Change Orders
  • Enter monthly materials forecasts based on S&OP entries, and make weekly adjustments
  • Validate Planning Bill of Materials ratio's on a quarterly basis to support the Plan for Every Part
  • Understand the company's strategic goals and implement scheduling activities to support them
  • Monitor Late Order Notices to reschedule jobs as required
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, and supply chain development
  • Participate in weekly Project Management meetings
  • Participate in ad hoc production meetings. Obtain up-to-the minute information regarding capacity and performance problems. Obtain agreement from all participants concerning modifications to the schedule. Flag potential issues and ensures that the organization addresses the issues in an effective and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with all functional areas of the company as required
  • Cross-train in all areas of scheduling, focusing on manufacturing processes, and coordinating an accurate flow of material to manufacturing in a timely and efficient manner
  • Backfill Schedulers as required
  • Lead or participate in projects
  • Write, revise procedures as needed

Minimum Requirements:
  • College Degree or 2-5 years of equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • ERP Experience required in manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Professional certifications in ASCM, APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CIRM

Work Environment:

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time
  • Primary work environment is professional corporate office

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Min $55,341 - Max $79,481
