POSITION TITLE: Operations Maintenance Technician II - Days (7am to 4:00pm)
LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY
HOURLY PAY RANGE: $28.00hr to $35.00hr
JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Maintenance Technician plans, coordinates, and executes routine preventive maintenance, diagnoses mechanical/electrical problems and determines how to correct them as unscheduled maintenance/repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operations Maintenance Technician Level I
Performs preventative maintenance following established work instructions.
Maintains all required fluids and lubrication by monitoring, per manufacturers best practices
Monitor inventory of spare components and machine consumables.
Record and analyze data.
Maintain preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance records for equipment.
Operations Maintenance Technician Level II
Troubleshoots and repairs failures.
Disassembles to remove and replace parts.
Interprets machine operation manuals and identifies problem source.
Support training of Level I.
Operations Maintenance Technician Senior Level
Perform skilled maintenance and repair of state-of-the-art CNC machining equipment.
Mechanical/electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
Specifies and quotes replacement items for manufacturing equipment.
Order parts supplies and equipment when required to maintain operation of manufacturing equipment.
Support training of Level II.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Complete work orders, records, history logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures through the site maintenance management system.
Adhere to all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure the safety of self and others.
Work with a team and individually.
Periodically perform other assigned activities which may pertain to departmental goals or responsibilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Operations Maintenance Technician Level I
0-2 years’ experience in a hands-on maintenance position in a production manufacturing environment or equivalent experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical equipment (e.g., maintenance specialist in military).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Operations Maintenance Technician Level II
3-5 years’ experience in a hands-on maintenance position in a production manufacturing environment or equivalent experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical equipment (e.g., maintenance specialist in military).
Operations Maintenance Technician Senior Level
5+ years’ experience in a hands-on maintenance position in a production manufacturing environment or equivalent experience with advanced mechanical/electro-mechanical equipment (e.g., maintenance specialist in military).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Operations Maintenance Technician Level I
Ability to communicate requirements to supervisors.
Ability to independently complete tasks with minimal supervision.
General repair knowledge.
Basic understanding of usage of hand/power tools.
Ability to work overtime as needed in support of production operations.
Operations Maintenance Technician Level II
Must demonstrate proper effective analytical troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills.
General knowledge of maintenance and repair of production equipment.
Electrical and mechanical repair of production machining equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery.
Ability to work from schematics, technical documents, and troubleshooting guides.
Operations Maintenance Technician Senior Level
Must demonstrate proper effective analytical troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills.
Advanced knowledge of maintenance and repair of the type of equipment that will be assigned to work on. This could include CNC, Extrusion, Pneumatic based, servo based, PLC controlled equipment, etc.
Advanced understanding of CNC machines and electrical diagrams.
Knowledge and experience in CNC machining equipment repair and operation, including motors, control electronics, spindles, ball screws, guideways, sensors, and switches.
