JOB SUMMARY

The Controls Build Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Controls Build department.

  • Provide strategic planning and develops the Controls Build department employees through coaching, training, evaluations, and motivating personnel.

  • Develop, enforce, and maintain Controls Build standards, processes, and procedures.

  • Manages all resource planning for the department. Implement contractors and other solutions to support business fluctuations

  • Perform department team timecard review, maintenance, and posting.

  • Review project schedule, progress and estimates of labor to complete

  • Manages onboarding, training, mentorship opportunities, and development for new employees.

  • Responsible for overseeing the NYS Apprenticeship program and apprentices in the department

  • Responsible for developing Lead electrician including expectations and responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external Panel Build

  • Implement improvements or enhancements that might lead to increased revenue or increased customer satisfaction.

  • Review, interview, and assist in hiring new employees

  • Conduct Quarterly department meetings.

  • Work directly with other departments and managers to ensure communication and positive interdepartmental results.

  • Manage vendors and contractor's workload.

  • Collaborate with Engineering on improving Controls Build designs.

  • Observes safety procedures.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

  • Performs any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.

    Position Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or related engineering discipline required.

  • 10+ years’ controls engineering experience required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Effective verbal and written communication.

  • Microsoft Office applications proficiency including Word and Excel.

Pay Range $90,000-110,000/yr
