Actalent Quality Control Analyst in Vernon Hills, Illinois

Job Title: Quality Control AnalystJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Analyst to join our team in a dynamic and state-of-the-art laboratory environment. This role involves operating materials management systems, preparing samples and standards, maintaining waste disposal records, and optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with cGMPs. The successful candidate will analyze experimental outcomes, document laboratory activities, and collaborate with management to ensure safe and compliant practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the materials management system integrating receiving, quarantine, release, inventory, and disposal mechanisms.

  • Prepare mobile phase, samples, and standards for use in procedures while preventing waste or loss of materials.

  • Maintain proper waste disposal handling and record-keeping.

  • Participate in the execution and optimization of SOPs for equipment and instrumentation per cGMPs.

  • Correctly analyze and interpret the outcome of experiments.

  • Prepare and assemble documentation such as entries into laboratory notebooks and maintain proper records per relevant SOPs and policies.

  • Collaborate with supporting management for assigned tasks, including technology transfer.

  • Learn and apply regulations, legal requirements, policies, and procedures relevant to areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure safe and compliant practices, manage risk, and maximize opportunities for project success.

  • Become proficient with UPLC, Empower, and various other analytical instruments and software packages.

  • Perform routine analytical tests of excipients, APIs, finished products, compounded sterile preparations, and stability samples.

  • Create and maintain clear and concise lab records and documentation.

  • Execute lab analysis and related documentation in a timely manner.

  • Support daily analysis and stability study activities with significant supervision.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology with a Chemistry Minor

  • 0-3 years of experience with UPLC/HPLC

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Exposure to Pharmaceutical/FDA environments

  • Experience with cGMP

  • Proficiency with Empower software

Work Environment

The Quality Control Analyst will work in a clean, state-of-the-art laboratory as well as spend time in the office. Our brand new facility in Vernon Hills offers a family-like atmosphere with excellent training and growth opportunities. The emphasis on automation of critical laboratory processes minimizes human error within the testing and analysis process. The work involves testing samples from various industries, with a significant focus on pharmaceutical products and compounded sterile or non-sterile preparations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00
