As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will be a vital part of our Collins Missions Systems business unit. You will support our mixed model tank units line, focusing on high-mix, high-volume fuel probes in aerospace manufacturing. Your primary goal will be to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency to meet our customers\' demands. You will leverage your experience and talents to enhance manufacturing processes, drive improvements, and lead impactful projects\ What YOU Will Do:

  • Analyze part drawings and engineering data to determine manufacturing methods and processes for complex product fabrication and assembly.
  • Establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and facility layout for new or revised products
  • Provide technical support to operations to ensure optimal manufacturing capacity and efficiency
  • Adapt machine and equipment designs to align with factory and production standards
  • Improve production methods through Lean Manufacturing, Automation, and Process Control initiatives
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives, SRR reduction, and productivity projects
  • Lead Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality, and EH&S initiatives to drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Perform additional duties as required to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Adhere to all Collins policies, procedures, regulations, and required training involving EH&S, Ethics, Continuous Improvement (CORE), and Quality.\ What YOU Will Learn:
  • Advanced techniques in Lean Manufacturing, Automation, and Process Control to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Best practices for designing and implementing manufacturing processes for high-mix, high-volume aerospace products.
  • Strategies for leading and executing cost-saving initiatives, SRR reduction, and productivity improvement projects.
  • Skills in analyzing engineering data and part drawings to determine optimal manufacturing methods for complex assemblies.
  • Methods for fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving organizational efficiency through CORE, Quality, and EH&S initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experienceoran Advanced Degree in a related fieldorin absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • S. citizenship isrequired, as only U.S. citizensare authorized toaccess information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaisen events or experience with a continuous improvement program
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills, Comfortable working directly with wage labor and executive leadership.
  • Demon trated success in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
  • Achieving results through other team members and suppliers. Drive for action and quality focused.
  • Must be a highly motivated, proactive, self-directed worker
