Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Ventura, California
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk based in Ventura, California. The selected candidate will be part of a team that ensures timely and accurate payments to vendors, assists other staff members, and meets the demands of the Accounting Department. This role operates within the telecom provider industry and is set to be a stimulating challenge for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
• Review and assign account codes to ensure payments are recorded in the correct account.
• Match invoices to purchase orders or delivery receipts, verifying pricing and extensions.
• Ensure payments have appropriate authorization consistent with policy.
• Process invoices promptly to capitalize on purchase discounts and meet due dates.
• Maintain accounts payable records in an organized manner for easy access.
• Distribute monthly accounts payable summary reports to management as directed.
• Prepare and distribute year-end reports.
• Prepare month-end accrual journal entries as needed for correct expense allocation.
• Assist in the month-end closing process to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Train staff on processes and procedures.
• Support the Accounts Payable Supervisor by performing month-end subsidiary ledger closing procedures and issuing checks.
• Use skills such as MEDITECH, Accounts Payable (AP), Microsoft Excel, and Monthly Accruals to perform duties effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in MEDITECH software
• Solid understanding and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with monthly accruals
• Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is highly desirable.
