Job Description:

Lab Technician - Velva, ND

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is night shift as well as days. Must be able to work both as needed.

  • Process and finished product testing, including check sample/qc sample and calibration standards for instruments

  • Use of lab instruments and minor Instrument preventative maintenance, calibration and verification

  • Reporting out of specification results to management and/or operations

  • Storage of shipment retains shipping of customer and referee samples

  • Reports Food Safety concerns to Food Safety Representative and plant management

  • May assume QC Manager responsibilities in their absence

  • Qualifications include education and laboratory training

In addition to the job tasks listed above:

  • Will retain the skills/knowledge quickly, able to be on their feet a good amount of time throughout the day

  • Should be able to lift 50 pounds

  • General computer skills along with knowledge/experience with Word & Excel (our lab software is specific to our location but similar to working with Excel)

  • Some background or lab experience preferred by not necessarily required

  • Will show up on time and every day they are scheduled

  • Is not afraid to get a little dirty

  • Gets along with others and able to take direction and communicate with feedback

  • Not afraid to ask questions

  • Handles equipment / instruments / glassware with care and keeps tidy

  • Able to multi-task.
