About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (https://youtu.be/H_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About this position:
The purpose of this position is to assure work is compliant with contract plans, specifications, and general conditions. Project Field Representative insures that construction practices and other construction industry standards are being followed. To insure contract parties are following good safety practices and have initiated their own safety programs. The Project Field Representative shall be thoroughly conversant with contract documents including plans, specifications, shop drawing submittals and schedules. Responsible for documenting the contract progress by maintaining written reports, notes, photographs, e-mails and other web based electronic data. The Field Representative must have the background and experience necessary to oversee large complex projects. Scheduling of testing company inspections, making certain that As-Builts are maintained and attend all project meetings.

Position Location:
This position will be located in the Western Upper Peninsula. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or building construction.
Experience
Three years of professional experience overseeing the construction, remodeling and/or maintenance of buildings and facilities, including one year equivalent to a Building Construction Project Superintendent P11.
Alternate Education and Experience
For all levels, four years of experience as a superintendent or foreman in the building construction trades, or experience of equivalent responsibility in building construction inspection, planning or design may be substituted for the education requirement.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
