Philips Supplier Quality Engineer in Vantaa, Finland


In this role, you have the opportunity to:

Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and procedures for regulated products/processes including high quality performance of suppliers.

To be responsible for achieving a state of high-quality performance at our Supplier partners through the application and practice of Advanced Product Quality Planning ‘APQP’ during the industrialization of Philips products/parts within the New Product Introduction ‘NPI’ process.

To be responsible for achieving a state of high-quality performance at our Supplier partners and pursuing continuous quality improvement through the application of Quality Engineering practices on Philips products/parts/services procured from suppliers throughout the product lifecycle including sustaining change management.

You are responsible for:

  • Leading Quality Engineering capability assessments of potential new suppliers.

  • Being core member of NPI project teams.

  • APQP plan development, execution, monitoring and control as part of the NPI process.

  • Contributing to Supplier Project Book content.

  • Contributing to Design for Excellence (DfX) collaboration between R&D and Suppliers.

  • Critical to Quality characteristics flow down to Suppliers.

  • Part Submission Warrant plans, deliverables, line release and completion.

  • Supplier improvement and development on APQP.

  • Making Additions/Changes/Deletion to Approved Supplier List.

  • Negotiating Supplier Quality Agreement.

  • Analysing defects for determining if supplier caused and then notified.

  • Reviewing Supplier Corrective Action.

  • APQP plan development, execution, monitoring and control as part of Sustaining Changes.

  • Supplier performance monitoring, reporting, improvement, and development.

  • Supplier quality risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Supporting Supplier audit schedule development, execution and maintenance.

  • Assessing and coordinating Supplier Change Request.

You are a part of:

Global Philips Quality team, reporting directly to Supplier Quality Engineering Business Partner located in The Netherlands. You will be working closely with local Q&R teams as well as a part of remote team spread across Europe.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • BSc with 5+ years of related experience, or MSc degree with 3+ years of related experience in highly regulated and complex industry. Experience in medical device industry seen as a strong benefit.

  • Good understating of managing suppliers.

  • Strong background in “APQP” framework.

  • Systematic, analytic, and precise mindset. Passionate and positive attitude. Strive for high performance and product quality.

  • Excellent team and communication skills.

  • Ability to successfully incorporate and manage stakeholder needs throughout a project. Ability to build consensus at all levels including global interactions.

  • Communicate globally, across teams and programs, from senior leaders to administrative support personnel.

  • Excellent skills in written/spoken English. Finnish language is also required.
