THE JOB

We are currently hiring an Office / Human Resources Assistant to be a part of our team! This position will be responsible for greeting customers and/or visitors, sorting and distributing incoming mail, posting and preparing outgoing mail, and assisting with other general administrative duties. This role will also assist the Human Resources team with scheduling interviews, onboarding new employees, managing the electronic document management system, and planning and executing employee engagement activities and events.

  • Responsible for tracking HR-related training and program submissions (Employee Referral and Employee Suggestion Programs).
  • Manages all personnel and benefit filing in electronic document management system.
  • Assists with planning and executing employee engagement activities (i.e. annual winter dinner event, Tidewater Day, Employee Appreciation Day, Adopt-a-Family, and Quarterly luncheons).
  • Prepares and sells employee store merchandise and manages inventory.
  • Prepares conference rooms for meetings which may include ordering food/beverages, room preparations and handling other accommodations as required.
  • Maintains company lunchroom, ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of the lunchroom area. Monitors inventory levels of necessary items and supplies to ensure timely restocking.
  • Maintains office supply levels for usual and customary usage.
  • Maintains company directories and distribution lists as required.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

THE BENEFITS

  • Hiring Wage Range: $18.93 -- $22.27 / hour (depending on experience and qualifications); Position Wage Range: $18.93 - $25.62 / hour

THE CATCH

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years' in a related capacity or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and interest in the field of human resources preferred.
  • Must have a valid Drivers' License and maintain an insurable driving record to drive company vehicles as needed.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to self-direct and prioritize goals and objectives.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
