We're seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) team and help shape experiences of millions of users who depend on EKS to orchestrate their applications. As a Senior SDE on the EKS team, you'll be at the forefront of cloud-native infrastructure, developing solutions that impact millions of applications worldwide. You'll work on high-scale, fault-tolerant systems and leverage your expertise to create innovative features that delight our customers.
Key job responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs and services for EKS, capable of handling 1000+ TPS
Architect and implement ML pipelines to enhance EKS capabilities, such as intelligent auto-scaling, predictive maintenance, and automated troubleshooting
Contribute to the development of AI-powered features that leverage large language models (LLMs) to improve user experience and cluster management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new EKS features, working backwards from customer needs
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth and best practices
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and performance of our services
Contribute to open-source projects maintained by the team

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
