Pixieset Accountant in Vancouver, British Columbia

Pixieset is hiring an Accountant to join our growing team. As a key member of the Finance department, you'll manage core accounting functions, including the full accounts payable cycle, bi-weekly payroll, compliance reporting, and month-end processes. You'll also ensure compliance with multi-jurisdictional tax filings, prepare tax provisions, and support external audits, directly contributing to Pixieset's financial health and operational excellence. Your Impact

Accounts Payable:

  • Manage the accounts payable inbox, process incoming vendor invoices, and liaise with vendors to resolve inquiries and communicate payment expectations

  • Support the invoice approval process by coordinating with various departments and leadership to ensure proper approvals and timely coding of invoices and credit card expenses to the correct departments and GL accounts

  • Perform monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring all documentation is properly filed within the accounting system, and maintain accurate vendor records

  • Prepare bi-weekly payment runs, initiate payments using various methods, and accrue for unapproved and late invoices at month-end

Payroll:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including wages for full-time and part-time employees, paid time off, taxable benefits, reimbursements, and off-cycle payrolls for terminations

  • Calculate and file EHT and ensure ADP WCB reporting accuracy

  • Handle year-to-date adjustments and reconcile year-end T4s as needed

General Accounting & Tax:

  • Reconcile and prepare sales tax filings for multiple jurisdictions (MB/BC/SK PST; Federal GST).

  • Support external annual audits and tax audits as required, including preparing current and future income tax provisions for audit purposes.

  • Perform month-end duties such as bank reconciliations and preparing working papers.

  • Document processes, identify opportunities for process improvements, and contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in an internal accounting role

  • Experience performing month-end responsibilities

  • Ability to conduct accounting and tax research with minimal guidance

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and time management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively

The typical salary range for this position is CAD $76,950 - $105,000 annually. Salary offered will be based on skills, experience and market data.
