Port of Vancouver Account Representative in Vancouver, British Columbia

The Account Representative builds and maintains strong relationships with key VFPA customers, as well as key stakeholders, to provide distinctive value to customers. This position contributes to the development of corporate and departmental plans and works cross-departmentally in support of marketing strategies. This position must also maintain a deep understanding of customers’ businesses, their strategies and operations in our Gateway.
What you do:
Buildrelationships across VFPA and with external customers and stakeholders toenhance customer experience and provide market intelligence and input tocorporate and departmental plans.
Developand maintain key customer accounts and implement customer engagement tactics inalignment with VFPA’s Customer Engagement Framework and in collaboration withrelevant VFPA departments.
Incollaboration with various VFPA departments, recommend, develop and implementmarketing programs, and business improvement processes.
Assess andidentify business opportunities for VFPA and support customers’ businessrequirements.
Distillcustomer and market intelligence and assess, report and recommend requiredactions.
Anticipatecustomer issues and work with internal and external contacts to resolve withina specified timeframe.
Developaction plans and project charters that are tightly aligned with TradeDevelopment priorities and corporate strategic initiatives.
Developand implement systems and processes for marketing plan development; contributeto marketing strategies and recommend tactics.
Analyzeand apply key information to recommend pricing strategies within annual feereviews.
Monitorand track departmental budgets, participate in departmental planning andcontribute to VFPA corporate business planning cycle.
What youbring:
You will have a university degree inmarketing or another acceptable discipline and a minimum of four yearsmarketing experience in an international trade environment with directexperience in key customer account management working with terminaloperators and/or marine carriers.
You will have excellent communicationskills, verbally and written, with a second relevant language useful tocurrent and potential business customers, as an asset.
You will possess effective facilitationskills with demonstrated experience in marketing and customer engagementin a multifaceted environment would be an asset.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Officeand other presentation and database applications, in particular advancedskills in Excel and PowerPoint.
A PMP certification is desired
You will be a self-motivated individualwith sound judgment and highly proficient in communicating effectivelywith all levels of contacts, internally and externally.
You will be a team player with excellentinterpersonal and organizational skills.
You will demonstrate effectivedecision-making, planning initiative, and flexibility to meet the demandsof this position.
You possess the ability to identify andanalyze issues, provide advice and escalate when necessary.
You will have a strong customer serviceorientation while managing a breadth of responsibilities.

Workingenvironment: Normal office conditions with a requirement to attend conferences, participate in special events and make customer calls outside of regular working hours and travel out of town approximately 4-6 trips per year.
