Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Schedule: AM’s 5x8's or 4x10's
Location: Onsite. Valley Center & San Ysabel, CA
Local Pay( Within 50 miles): $35hr
- Contract Length: 2 years
Summary: As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you’ll provide outpatient and aftercare services to patients, supporting them on their journey to recovery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct individual or group counseling sessions.
Perform necessary chemical dependency assessments using ASI and/or ASAM assessments to identify the appropriate level of care.
Collaborate with patients to develop treatment plans, which may include case management services.
Provide individual chemical dependency counseling.
Facilitate placement in youth and adult treatment facilities when necessary.
Monitor patient progress through case management.
Make referrals to internal programs and external agencies as needed.
Maintain a continuous review of referrals to ensure efficient and professional service delivery.
Execute objectives for grant-funded projects, if assigned.
Deliver community substance abuse prevention education programs.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to provide comprehensive treatment services.
Participate in department development activities, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Assist in developing communication guidelines with agencies and schools.
Be prepared for reassignment during emergency operations planning (EOP).
Qualifications:
Credentials accepted include CAADAC, LAAC
Active BLS Cert.
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Associates degree preferred.
Knowledge of counseling techniques, community resources, and group dynamics.
Strong communication skills to elicit information and cooperation from patients.
Familiarity with NextGen or EPIC electronic health records.
Experience using Paycom, Paycom Learning, and PolicyTech systems.
