The P/T Program Specialist - Internship Coordination will develop, coordinate, and supervise administrative tasks in order to enhance internship experiences at WCC. The incumbent will encompass the following areas of responsibility: internship and applied learning administration & coordination, and employer relations & student/academic department relations. The position will work within the guidelines of WCC's and SUNY's policies and practices for internships to increase the number of opportunities available for students in CTE degree programs where internships are not fully utilized. The position will work collaboratively with Career Services, and various other staff working on applied learning opportunities to create a curriculum that guides students to post graduation opportunities. The incumbent will also develop working relationships among deans, faculty, employers and community partners to establish robust internship opportunities for students that complement classroom experiences and student learning objectives.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in the field of education, workforce development, educational administration, industry partnership development, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, or customer services. The candidate must possess experience in a collegiate environment to understand the academic culture and must have the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, parents, and administrators. This position requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. The candidate must have an understanding of experiential education, career education and career advising and familiarity with corporate and nonprofit human resource management.

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, communication, public relations, or other related major strongly preferred. A Master's degree and background in career education also preferred.

Additional Information:

POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.

WORK SCHEDULE: This part time position is for 28 hours per week for 45 weeks per year.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour. No benefits. This position is grant funded for one year, with the possibility of an additional year pending approval of funding.
