Description

At Knowles Precision Devices, the Electrical Engineer II plays a vital role in supporting existing testing equipment, contributing to electrical design in electro-mechanical fixtures, and writing technical procedures. Engage with the dynamic world of engineering by participating in DM (Daily Management) board discussions, providing updates, and addressing engineering requests. Utilize problem-solving skills for root cause analysis, troubleshooting equipment, and resolving production issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design innovative circuits to enhance electrical testing in the department.

  • Collaborate on testing automation initiatives.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to design electro-mechanical fixtures.

  • Write and execute IQs, OQs, and PQs.

  • Enhance existing testing processes and implement new equipment and processes.

  • Tackle daily production challenges related to testing equipment.

  • Craft and modify Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures.

  • Attend Kaizens for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with CI engineers to evaluate and implement enhancements.

  • Create electrical schematics for both existing and new designs.

  • Conduct manufacturing cost analysis, focusing on direct labor.

  • Develop and modify detailed work instructions for production.

  • Assist in the evaluation, purchasing, and implementation of new equipment.

  • Read equipment user manuals, program equipment, and document procedures for production.

  • Train production personnel on new or existing testing equipment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

  • Possess strong data analysis skills to identify root causes.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Have at least 1-3 years of experience working with circuits and testing equipment.

  • Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) certification is required.

  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic programming is a plus.

  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, C#, or C++.

  • Ability to create 2D drawings for schematics.

  • Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing is advantageous.

  • Must be eligible to work legally in the US.

  • Hands-on skills such as soldering, circuit prototyping, wiring, etc., are required.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Demonstrate precision by observing small components through the use of a microscope.

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $85,000 to $105,000 per year.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
