Summary: Performs all aspects of facilities maintenance while adhering to safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations. The Facilities Maintenance Technician would be a proactive thinker, embracing the mindset of thorough planning & continuous improvement, in addition, the Facility Maintenance Technician would contribute to our company culture by being rigorously dedicated to extraordinary quality and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspects plant facilities to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements required and notifies management concerning need for major repairs.

  • Performs maintenance, repairs, and renovations of buildings.

  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities in the absence of the Manager

  • Assists with construction of new buildings and renovations of existing buildings.

  • Inspects and reviews construction projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations in the absence of the Manager.

  • Confers with other departments regarding concerns with the operation, repair, maintenance and construction of facilities, buildings, and grounds.

  • Troubleshoots basic problems and implements effective repairs.

  • Addresses urgent situations to ensure prompt resolution and cleanup as necessary.

  • Documents observed deficiencies within the building and grounds, detailing specific issues, their locations and recommendations for corrections.

  • Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.

  • Reports safety, food safety, and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience:

    · High School Diploma or GED;

    · Associate’s degree; or

    · One to three years’ related experience and/or training; or

    · Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills:

    · Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    · Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

    · Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.

    · Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

    Other Qualifications:

    · Must be able to travel to facilities outside local area when required.
