Department Summary

The position is responsible for teaching a 4/4 course load (fall/spring) in the communication program, maintain scholarly productivity, and provide service to the department, college, and university. Courses taught may include undergraduate and graduate level courses such as Conflict Management, Teams and Leadership, Human Communication, Public Speaking, Event Planning, and Organizational Communication, while other courses may be assigned based upon qualifications, interests, and department needs. Courses may be delivered in traditional, online, hybrid, and off-campus formats. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an understanding of college processes, curricula, and technology to be an effective academic advisor and mentor. It is expected that faculty continuously update knowledge and skills through participation in professional development activities and stay abreast of advancements in theories, methodologies, and technologies related to the field.

Typical Allocation of Duties

Teaching and scholarship - 80% Teaches classes and conducts/presents research in the employee's academic discipline.
