Chugach Alaska Services, LLC Operations Maintenance Tech - Valdez in Valdez, Alaska

Position Summary:

This position provides operations and maintenance support on the Valdez Marine Terminal. This position is a rotational field position.

Travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safe and effective operation of oil moving and utility systems.
  • Heavy equipment operation and use of manual tools as necessary for snow removal.
  • Knowledge and use of Alyeska permitting systems to safely control work processes.
  • Monitor and assist in maintenance work orders and perform light maintenance as required.
  • Ability to work independently and perform successfully in a team environment with other departments.
  • Adheres to all Alyeska pipeline and Chugach Alaska Services policies and regulations, abides by the Code of Conduct, able to be decisive during response and demonstrate professional behavior with the highest ethical, morale, and legal principles.

Other Job Responsibilities:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three (3) years of directly related work experience in industrial operations and maintenance technical disciplines.
    1. Completed technical industrial education at a college/university or trade school in directly related fields may be substituted for the required experience (e.g. Process Technology Degree, Water Treatment provisional or higher certifications or Boiler Operations License, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office Suites proficient.
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to obtain one.
  • Current drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Successfully pass a background check, fit for duty, and DOT pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Requirements

  • Year-round Valdez Alaska residency.
  • Experience in writing procedures, maintaining records, including maintenance records and work logs.
  • Experience in operating Power Generation Systems, Refineries, or Hydrocarbon Gas Systems.
  • Previous TAPS experience.
  • Experience in technical trade.
  • Experience in reading and understanding technical drawings.
  • Experience in using multi-step procedures for complex tasks.
  • Experience working in a strong safety culture, including experience in a behavior-based safety system.
