Your Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a successful candidate to become a Mining Lead for Stantec’s Environmental Services Group in Quebec. Reporting to our Regional Growth Leader, you will be responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of excellent work to our mining clients. Accountable for the top line, you will lead the growth of the mining team within our Environmental Services group in Quebec while providing innovative project solutions with exceptional quality and execution that exceed client expectations.
You will work closely with other leaders in Quebec and from Eastern Canada to deliver professional services to clients, while championing safety, quality, innovation, and risk management processes.
The role will be hybrid, but primarily work will be from any Stantec office in Quebec. Travel, on occasion, will be required to other Stantec office locations, the field and/or meetings with clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of Stantec’s portfolio of mining clients in Quebec.
Maintain client outreach (internally & externally) specific to the mining market.
Conduct mining market research.
Lead the Quebec Mining team.
Lead and coordinate proposal development, proposal debriefs, backlog tracking, and client surveys.
Lead client events (i.e., training seminars).
Attend mining industry events, such as conferences and/or tradeshows.
Develop business plans and work with the leadership team to achieve key performance indicators.
Contribute to the development and execution of the national business strategy for Environmental Services, with accountability for Quebec region-specific strategies and priorities with respect to the mining sector.
Lead growth in revenue generation and monitor progress using Stantec’s business tools to monitor KPIs.
Assist leadership with the training and mentorship of junior and intermediate staff to respond to proposal requests, liaising with clients, project scoping, and other business development initiatives.
Engage in technical project work, including project leadership, within your scope of technical expertise as required to support the project execution teams.

Qualifications
Your background
Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of environmental services work in the mining sector, leadership, technical, financial management, business development and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Profound knowledge of Quebec’s mining sector
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and in English with an ability to clearly convey and distill complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
Your keys to success
Master's degree in environmental management, MBA or related field.
Ability to balance project execution and business development.
Entrepreneurial minded with a core understanding of business and the challenges of an engineering and environmental consulting services provider.
Team player with experience in sourcing clients, building, leading, and managing a team.
Awareness of professional standards of practice (Professional Engineers, Professional Geologists, PMP), ethics, and their applicability to Stantec’s business, risk management, and quality frameworks.
