Ski And Snowboard Club Vail Alpine Ski Coach in Vail, Colorado

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail in Vail, CO, seeks 4 Alpine Ski Coaches for temporary, full-time employment (10/01/2024 to 06/15/2025). Duties: Work closely with the Alpine Program Director, Head Coaches and staff to foster alignment, and optimal participation and performance. Assist in the design and implementation of on snow programming. SSCV programs are based on a long-term-student-athlete-development model consisting of the following domains: student-athlete development, physical fitness, and nutrition, technical and tactical, mental, and social including academic-athletic support and balance, equipment, and competition.

ALPINE PROGRAM: Act as full-time on-hill coach for the alpine program. Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive, age-appropriate programming for the alpine athletes you are working with. Responsible for assisting with all aspects of alpine training, competition and travel as directed by the Head Coach.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: Work with the Strength and Conditioning Manager as well as the Head Coach to deliver programming to the athletes and supervise activities.

ALPINE RACES AND VENUES: Work with the Head Coach to coordinate competition and travel schedules.

EQUIPMENT: Help maintain inventory records of alpine program and event related equipment. Help plan for purchase of new equipment, as necessary. Help repair and maintain equipment, as necessary.

ADMINISTRATIVE: Help administer aspects of the Program including but not limited to travel, trip budgets and info sheets, acting as Team Captain at races, vehicle upkeep and protocols, and expense reporting as directed by the Head Coach.

COMMUNICATIONS, COMMUNITY, AND CLUB: Develop and maintain consistent, professional, educational, and supportive communication structures with staff, parents, and the community concerning the alpine program. Work closely with other administrative staff as needed.

TRAINING VENUE: Will be required to work with the SSCV Operations staff to ensure the correct installation of safety standards including A-net, B-net, C-Net and other padding as required.

Travel and coach team at ski competitions (competitions last 3-4 days) regionally approximately 3-4 times per month and internationally approximately once throughout the season. Lodging and transportation will be provided during travel for training / practice at Copper Mountain Ski resort and ski competitions with athletes.

May perform other job duties pursuant to 27-2022, Coaches and Scouts.

35+ hours/week. Saturdays-Sundays 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Tuesdays-Fridays 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours.

Must be a certified ski coach or ski instructor equivalent to United States Ski and Snowboard (USSS) Level 100 or Professional Ski Instructors of America Level 1 equivalent.

Must possess 1 year of experience in ski coaching or ski instructing or 4 years of competing at a high level in Alpine Ski Racing.

On-the-job training will not be provided.

Must be registered with USSS and meet all of its certification requirements for ski coaches prior to start of employment.

$32,512.50 for 8.5 months = $3,825.00/mo. Workers will be paid no less than the salary listed. Employer may pay higher salary rates to workers based on seniority with employer, experience, or level of skill.

The H-2B Temporary Alpine Ski Coaches will perform duties at the following locations: 598 Vail Valley Drive, Vail, CO 81657 and Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Summit County, CO.

Employer assurances pursuant to 20 CFR 655.20:

Single work week used in computing wages due. Workers are paid semi-monthly on the 15th and last day of the month, as is the prevailing practice in the area of intended employment. Work tools, supplies & equipment provided without cost to employee. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and ny non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee. Employer will arrange & pay directly for transportation & subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work. Employer will issue reimbursement within the first workweek when required to meet FLSA minimum wage obligations. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, if the worker has no immediately subsequent H-2B employment, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & related fees, incl. those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment
