GE Vernova Lead Finance Specialist - Engineering Operations in Vadodara, India

Job Description Summary

The main responsibilities for this role include:

Controlling, reporting, and budgeting for Global Engineering Finance ($80M budget)

Supporting Project Engineering Manager with engineering budget set-up and reporting for - Asia Large/ Service Projects

Leading the monthly and quarterly closings:

  • In charge of the total engineering payroll analysis (engineering staff accounting for 30% of total GE Vernova Hydro Power, and spread across 10 different countries), and of the sub-contracting and travels budgets management

  • Responsible for the monthly liquidation of engineering hours to projects

  • Led the monthly analysis of the R&D programs expenses

  • Monitored the intercompany billings for engineering

Conducting the monthly under-recovery analysis and the reporting to the worldwide CFO and CEO of GE Vernova Hydro Power

Piloting the calculation of the annual engineering hourly rates for each country and the definition of the annual budgets of each of my scopes

Supporting the monthly follow-up of engineering project budgets, and supervising the quarterly performance reporting.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Controlling:

  • Ensuring the correct allocation of costs for the following costs buckets: Liquidation, C&B, External expenses, training, facilities, depreciation, purchase services, Funding.

  • Reviewing the nature of the costs, the function of the costs, and the category of the costs (BVP)

  • Driving the corrections through other team members (inside and outside Engineering finance team)

  • Proactively highlighting issues to FP&A/base costs/finance management to ensure collective resolution, avoiding waste of time and disconnects.

  • Performing monthly update on Risk & Opportunities for the quarter landing to FP&A teams

  • Participating in the monthly project review with Engineering staff (COE & Engineering management), proactively highlighting issues and pushing for resolution

  • Preparing and presenting the monthly reporting of Variable cost pacing to engineering & finance management

Engineering projects 606 monthly pacing:

  • Implementing the needed adjustments in Gridfusion & model test cost to complete for ASIA & EMEA Service projects

  • Supporting engineers/Project Manager Engineering to respect the commitments on the quarter budgets

  • Ensuring that Storms is updated timely by Project Manager Engineering /COE leaders and reflects the best estimate

Audit:

  • Addressing audit requests on project costsSolving any other ad hoc requests related to audit

Continuous improvement:

  • Supporting/leading/proposing improvements on financial information systems:

  • Gridfusion/PMX/KEOPS/Storms

  • Providing resolution in Gridfusion issues

  • Ensuring that processes are always followed by team members and provide guidelines

Required Qualifications:

  • University or College degree in Finance/Business/Economy/Accounting

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in projects and financial planning (FP&A)

  • Experience in working with Engineering Finance

  • Experience in budgeting, reporting, monthly/ quarterly closings, and project reviews

  • Experience on big projects (preferably engineering)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Flexibility to work in the European time zone
