MNGI Digestive Health, P.A. Endoscopy Technician - Vadnais Heights in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota
Description Job Purpose: Care and maintenance of endoscopes and accessory equipment utilized for medical procedures, following infection control guidelines and company policies. This is a full time position (40 hours per week) scheduled for five - 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am-5:30pm at our Vadnais Heights location. The Endoscopy Technician position is a great opportunity to gain experience in the medical field and no prior experience is required. We offer complete and thorough paid job training for our Endoscopy Technicians. The starting rate of pay for this position is between $18.59-$21.38/hour. Where an applicant may fall on the salary range will vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience and education. In addition to this base salary, employees may be eligible for a bonus based on completing company, department and individual goals. This position would be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(K) with company match and profit sharing, generous paid days off, and paid parental leave. Turn around procedure rooms: set up and take down Trouble shoot endoscopes in the procedure room as needed Clean and high level disinfect endoscopes Clean, high level disinfect or sterilize accessory equipment Stock supplies for the Endoscopy Center and order as needed Prepare scope for transport Help clean and make beds in recovery as needed Assist nursing staff and physicians as needed Operation and maintenance of endoscopy equipment as directed Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs Qualification Requirements:The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the essential functions of this position. Experience with equipment cleaning and reprocessing or experience as a Sterile Processing Technician is preferred but not required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift and transport up to 25 pounds on occasion and reach to hang scopes and stock supplies. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move quickly on their feet. Employees must be able to tolerate personal protective equipment including; gowns, gloves, face masks and eye protection. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. A color blindness test is required for the Endoscopy Tech job. Endoscopy Techs must be able to differentiate color changes for monitoring chemical efficacy tests in which pass and fail are different colors as well as sterilization and biologic in icator color changes which are used to ensure sterilization processes have been completed. Scope monitoring tests are also performed with test strips that change color to indicate a pass or fail. All testing that fails indicates a process must be repeated or a chemical must be changed and the process must be repeated. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this position,the employee works in an outpatient Endoscopy Center and rotates in and out of procedure rooms and the equipment processing room. The employee is exposed to cleaning and hazardous chemicals. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided. The employee is exposed to a computer monitor daily. Employees may be required to travel to other company locations due to staffing and training needs.The employee may be required to travel by automobile and exposed to changing weather conditions while performing the duties of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be alert to conditions that may impact the safety of patients, employees and visitors.
