Job Summary
Under the direction of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Manager, or designee, the Medical Education Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration of day-to-day operations. The Program Coordinator acts as the central coordinator between Program Director(s), faculty, residents, the clinical practice, other institutional departments, and regulatory authorities.
This position will support the Medical Education at Mohawk Valley System. The Medical Education Program coordinator will collaborate with the Dean of Students and various internal departments to facilitate education and training programs
Core Job Responsibilities
Create the Medical Students, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant students’ daily educational activity schedules (creating the master schedule, call schedule, clinic schedule, rotation schedule, didactic schedule, home visits, etc)
Create and coordinate the students didactic schedule
Enter data, audit and run reports in the residency management suite software
Compile performance reports for presentation to the Designated Institutional Official
Track all aspects of on-boarding, orientation and off-boarding of students. Resolve process concerns.
Identify quality improvement opportunities for the onboarding and orientation process.
Coordinate all aspects of the student housing operations and ensure that the student housing is maintained, cleaned and operational.
Coordinate contacts, interviews, and prepare documentation for site visits.
Implement the program’s quality improvement plan and develop action plans. Ensure that the clinical experience and education received accurately reflects program aims, goals, objectives and strategies.
Collaborate with the Senior Program Coordinator with developing new policies.
Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED
One year experience in scheduling in a health care environment.
