As a Cloud Architect in our organization, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading the development of a Cloud Center of Excellence (COE) environment leveraging AWS technologies.You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring its security, scalability, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, architecture principles, and best practices, combined with strong leadership and communication skills. This position will report to the Cloud Operations Manager but will work with DevOPS and other Greenway Health departments to promote higher uptimes, better user experience, and develop future improvements to the overall cloud environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and resolves AWS service issues across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Manages AWS services, working with internal service groups as required to ensure system availability meets project requirements.

  • Develops scripts to automate systems administration and monitoring activities.

  • Analyzes monitoring results to produce recommendations for improving system performance and operational efficiency.

  • Works with Infrastructure Engineer and Architect on issues related to AWS design and architecture and assists with Proof of Concept development and testing.

  • Collaborates with peers within and beyond the Operations team to define and characterize complex technology or process problems and develop & implement new solutions.

  • Assists with the development of Operations white papers, proposals, and other documentation as needed.

    Education and Experience

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification, or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience.

  • Three (3)+ years of AWS administration experience, including API Gateway, S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, WAF, and CloudTrail.

  • Three (3)+ years deploying Infrastructure as Code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or equivalent technologies.

  • Experience supporting fast-paced development environments utilizing Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Experience working in an outsourced/managed services environment with some client-facing responsibilities (e.g., technical discussions with the client).

  • Experience working with third-party service providers such as vendors and internal support groups.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux server technologies.

  • Strong understanding of the broader technology context (e.g., network and database technologies).

  • Strong working knowledge of local and wide area networking technologies.

  • Familiarity with WebLogic or equivalent application server platforms.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian (Gerrit, Confluence, Artifactory, Jenkins) and other DevOps tools.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution.

  • Ability to plan and implement change for enterprise systems and adhere to standard change management processes.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to less technical staff (e.g., CGI management and client staff).

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work in an environment where the associate will be seated for the majority of the workday.

  • The role requires the ability to sit and regularly type on a keyboard throughout the workday.

  • This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods, as well as manage incoming and outgoing communications via the computer.

  • The role necessitates clear listening and speaking abilities for interactions with customers and other associates.

  • May need to lift up to 50 pounds.

This means you will be expected to work on-site at the corporate office for part of the week and remotely for the remainder.
