This role will be focused on Strategic Business Initiatives and Transformation and specifically, Merger & Acquisition Integration, Business Process Improvement and Organizational Change.

You will be accountable for delivering projects that help to drive our business forward by applying your extensive M&A experience, project management expertise, business process improvement experience, strong leadership skills and business acumen. This is a hands-on role, responsible for providing end-to-end, cross-discipline leadership of a wide range of business projects including merger and acquisition integration, business process improvement and organizational change initiatives. You will be expected to operate comfortably and effectively at the Executive and VP level, managing multiple high complexity, high risk and business critical projects; and you will actively champion and contribute to continuous improvement of best practices. Reporting to our Sr Director of PMO, we are seeking a strategic thinking individual who thrives in a role where they can personally execute and manage process improvement and M&A projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Acquisition Integration Management – Leading cross-functional teams in planning and executing the company-wide integration of acquired companies. Pragmatically following acquisition integration methodologies and best practices to ensure successful integration and achievement of acquisition value goals.

  • Process Improvement – Leading the planning and execution of process improvement initiatives across the organization. Leveraging extensive business process re-engineering experience and partnering with business stakeholders to facilitate and drive the project from defining the problem, identifying root cause, identifying opportunities, conducting opportunity analysis, to execution of process improvement.

  • Change Management – Leading the planning and execution of change management efforts that maximize employee change readiness for a variety of change initiatives ranging from organizational changes to process and system changes.

  • Methodologies and Best Practices – Responsible for creating and evolving methodologies, best practices and training for all three areas of responsibility: M&A Integration, Process Improvement and Change Management.

  • Project Planning – Working closely with the project team and business stakeholders to define the approach, activities and timelines for project execution, leveraging project management best practices. Tailoring standard project methodologies to define pragmatic approaches for specific initiatives.

  • Project Management – Applying modern project management techniques to manage a project, achieving objectives of scope, quality, time and cost; organize and lead project status and working meetings; preparing progress reports; presenting to an executive steering committee on a regular basis; proactively identifying and mitigating project risks and issues; managing project changes; developing relationships with key business stakeholders.

  • Team Management – Holding project teams accountable for their project responsibilities and deliverables; proactively ensuring that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc.; developing project teams by promoting empowerment, engagement and high quality deliverables.

  • A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information and tailor communication style and content for a variety of audiences. Comfortable and confident presenting to executives.

  • Ability to take a consultative approach to understand requirements, drill into details, and resolve issues.

  • Ability to think creatively to define innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.

  • Skilled in interpreting technical information and communicating this information to different audiences in a way they can understand.

  • Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively address and resolve conflict within and across teams.

  • Deltek is a fast-paced and dynamic environment; the ability to multitask on different projects concurrently and react quickly to movements in the business is critical.

    We also have a strong preference for the following additional skills & experience:

  • 10-12+ years of progressively responsible experience as a Project Manager for a combination of merger & acquisition, process improvement, business change, and other strategic initiatives.

  • B.S., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent experience.

  • Experience or background in Consulting.

  • Experience with merger and acquisition integration project management is desired.

  • Formal Process Improvement methodology experience (such as 5 Whys, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).

  • Experience with organizational change management.

  • Systems implementation experience.

  • Experience managing projects with remote teams.
