Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is an experienced project manager responsible for providing a leadership role within the department and organization, supporting the Project Management Office.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSBachelors degree CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Project Management Professional (PMP) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Five (5) Project Management. Position requires experience in complex project management, complex problem solving, leadership, vendor and contract management and exceptional communication skills. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated ability to actively and successfully manage highly complex projects. Demonstrated leadership abilities and business skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate, resolve multi-faceted issues and limit variance.
Essential Functions:
Provide program oversight, perform quality audits, identify training needs, coordinate staff training, mentor project managers and manage aspects of the project portfolio.
Assist the PMO leadership team by providing support and strategy to projects in jeopardy; by assisting with project scope issues; by facilitating project discussions with senior leadership; by working with PMs to avoid risk by analyzing, identifying and mitigating risk factors; and by seeking ways to improve PMO performance and value to the organization.
Responsible for recognizing opportunities for improvement and developing plans for review and deployment.
Ensure requirements are completed for projects and help lead requirement gathering sessions, as indicated.
Lead projects possessing a high degree of complexity and functional integration.
Act as a resource for the organization's project management and strategic needs.
