DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Mental Health Program Director is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall delivery of mental health services in the County. This is a professional position that requires clinical knowledge in the field of mental health. Knowledge of the criminal justice system, dual diagnosis concerns, especially mental health and substance abuse and mental health and intellectual disabilities is also preferred.

The incumbent is required to have supervisory experience, effective communication, writing and organizational skills along with the ability to multi-task. Other requirements include the ability to work independently and to be a self-starter. Must also have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders such as individuals receiving services, families, service providers, and other government entities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 2; or Five years of professional level experience in the field of mental health, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or consultative work; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
