JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Graphic Design at Stuckeman School in Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to support a system-based approach to visual communications. Successful candidates must have a strong foundation in graphic design and critical design thinking. Experience in areas such as Interactive Design, User Experience Design, Design Theory, Systems Design, and/or Computational Design are desirable.

Starting Date: Anti cipated August 2024

Responsibilities

The position will include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Graphic Design. Candidates are expected to continue engagement in professional research and creative activities. The position requires participation in usual departmental activities and service on school, college and University committees as assigned.

Qualifications Candidates must have a terminal degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a comparable terminal degree (such as an MFA in Design, a Master of Design, or a Ph.D. in Design) at the time of appointment. A record of University-level experience teaching and evidence of successful design practice is strongly preferred.
