JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, an NCAA Division I and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a Assistant Athletic Director who will oversee the scholarship budget allocations for an athletic department managing a total budget of over $20 million. This role involves collaborating with each of the 31 sports programs to effectively allocate their designated resources, forecasting funding needs for future recruiting classes, and managing current roster expenditures throughout the year. Key responsibilities include: Analyze all scholarship, operating and personnel budgets and expenses to provide strategic data analysis in an effort to best utilize ICA departmental funds. Solely responsible for the management, analysis and execution of ICA scholarship allocations, revenue share commitments and athlete marketing agreements to ensure resource optimization and Title IX compliance. Collaborate with all program coaches to establish and manage annual scholarship budgets and allocations. Forecast and analyze future recruiting class needs and provide recommendations to maximize our athlete compensation resources. Monitor and track current roster expenditures to ensure alignment with budget constraints throughout the academic year. Prepare financial reports and provide insights to the ICA Executive Staff to ensure compliance with NCAA and University regulations. Assist in developing policies and procedures related to scholarship funding and budget management. Stay updated on best practices in budget management, salary cap strategies, and compliance regulations relevant to collegiate athletics and in the Big Ten Conference.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience in budget management, financial planning, or a similar role, ideally in a collegiate athletics environment. Strong analytical and forecasting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other budgeting software; experience with data analysis tools is a plus. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Big Ten Conference rules and regulations as they pertain to financial aid and scholarships. Experience working with financial management systems and databases. Ability to develop strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall financial health of the athletic department.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $68,200.00 - $102,300.00
