JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Center for Health Care and Policy Research in the College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This role supports Professor Dennis Scanlon across his multiple leadership positions, including Center for Health Care and Policy Research Director, Principal Investigator, Professor of Health Policy and Administration, and NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative. The ideal candidate combines meticulous attention to detail with superior organizational abilities to deliver high-impact administrative support.
Responsibilities:
Maintain calendars, pertinent databases, confidential files, and systems
Arrange logistics for appointments, meetings, group meals, travel, and expenses
Research and compile information for communications
Prepare presentations, agendas, responses to correspondence, and various materials for committee work
Provide assistance for professional journal editor duties
Furnish instructional support such as maintaining materials in the course management system (Canvas), coordinating course readings with the University Library, setting up student assignment uploads in Canvas, assisting with class presentations, and communicating instructions to students on the professor's behalf
Assist with planning for the Health Services Research Colloquium series
Support professor in performing duties related to intercollegiate athletics, compliance, and academics in the role of Faculty Athletics Representative
Develop and maintain positive liaison relationships with various internal and external customers, including employees, executives, faculty, students, athletics administrators, student-athletes, professional contacts, and the general public
Assist the Center as an approver for SAP Concur transactions, ordering supplies, and serving as a backup for facilities

Education and Experience Requirements: Associate Degree or higher, plus four years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Experience with travel reimbursement systems such as SAP Concur
Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas

Additional Information: This s a limited-term staff position, funded for one year from the date of hire, with a good possibility of renewal.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $42,100.00 - $61,000.00
