JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator – Intermediate Support. This position will be a split administrative support position between the department and a faculty member's DARPA grant. This position will share duties with another Undergraduate Staff Assistant splitting approx. 2000 undergraduates of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Data Science (and growing). (50%) T

he Security of Software (SoS) lab of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking a research project admin to organize project activities for a multi-institutional DoD grant. This person will organize project team meetings and workshops, coordinate with participating institutions for project deliverables and generate monthly financial and technical reports to DoD, manage project-related travels for Penn State PIs and students, and other administrative support to the project. (50%)

Responsibilities:

  • Routine office duties for the undergraduate side will include typing and sending email and written correspondence; filing; copying, shredding; maintaining pertinent materials on hand; scheduling appointments; and organizing promotional events.

  • More detailed duties include reserving classrooms; rescheduling exams; entering grades and co-op reports; updating course books; ordering regalia; and scheduling evening exams with faculty.

  • On the Research side, this position must be able to generate monthly financial and technical reports for DoD.

  • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks, record and submit financial transactions, and implement procedures in line with COE Finance/Research office policies.

  • Establish and maintain electronic files, contacts, and lab directories to include post docs, students and PI's.

  • Order and maintain office supplies for labs to include cleaning schedules.

    Minimum requirements for this position include a high school diploma and 2 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work both independently and in a team-oriented environment are essential.

Hybrid work is optional.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
