Universal Products & Experiences’ Multimedia team manages the vision and voice of our leadership and global brand using: creative asset production, presentation development including narrative and design, as well as working closely with our events team on creative and AV. The Director, Multimedia Operations will be a master of their craft with experience leading global operational strategy and hands on execution to elevate business units and brands. This role partners closely with the VP, Creative Design, Multimedia to deliver world-class storytelling and design while managing an extensive slate of projects. A strong understanding of creative best practices and skillsets held by internal and external talent is key to ensure the right resources are applied to every project. This position reports to the VP, Global Brand Strategy & Design Operations.

Salary range: $120,000 - $160,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leads operational strategy and workflows for executive presentations to elevate UP&E’s presence and standing with key internal and external partners. Partners closely with events team to ensure highest quality event production

  • Cultivates strong relationships with business leaders and senior executives through open door communication and connecting dots across ideas and businesses to deliver one-voice vision and exceptional results

  • Manages resources, ensuring the correct creative and production talent are allocated to each project and coordinates with external vendors and talent as needed to flex capacity

  • Oversees intake of projects, development of workback schedules and tracks against resources. Works with cross functional teams to establish clear expectations and scope for each project

  • Calendars and drives agendas and attendees to ensure productive meetings; facilitates conversations and provides recaps and next steps following meetings to ensure milestones are met

  • Leads and manages Multimedia project management team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development while fostering a culture of creative excellence and innovation

  • Sets clear goals and objectives for the team, monitors progress, and provides regular feedback and performance evaluations. Identifies areas for improvement and implements strategies to enhance team performance

  • Creates and manages deployment of new processes to ensure team viability and growth taking in to account intimate knowledge of our platforms, software, security expectations, and how other teams/departments operate

  • Manages development and consistent updates of presentations, ensuring exceptional quality, for internal and external use

  • Oversees executive approval and distribution process for all Multimedia-developed tools

  • Keeps security of assets top of mind and guides team on usage and distribution

  • Oversees Multimedia budget, including budget planning, quarterly forecasting and pacing along with vendor set up, PO creation and invoicing. Ensures fiscal responsibility balanced with creative expectation

  • Shapes best-in-class culture by promoting innovation, collaboration and problem-solving through a solution-oriented approach that drives for results

  • Contributes to the advancement and actualization of Universal’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments

  • Additional duties as needed to meet business needs

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in operations, production or internal communications or related field with 5+ years in leadership, including identifying and developing talent

  • Strong MAC skills including highly proficient in Keynote. Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Acrobat. Proficient in project management software; knowledge of Workfront preferred.

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator a plus

  • Prior experience working with “C”-level executives

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Experienced manager with demonstrated team leadership ability

  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening as well as a professional presentation

  • Ability to juggle long and short-term deadlines in a dynamic working environment

  • Stays current with understanding of business/organizational priorities and evolving industry trends

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends and travel both domestically and internationally

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience in executive level communications or editorial development

  • Comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable dealing with people at all levels, and easily collaborates to develop and maintain strong relationships

  • Enthusiastic and energetic when interacting with others

  • A passion and interest in consumer products, film/content, franchise/marketing strategy and studio process worldwide
