The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, document, and implement the Construction Utility Coordination program for the District. This involves identifying any utility issues that may arise during the project delivery process and scheduling the necessary support to address these issues. The aim is to increase construction efficiency by finding and implementing effective solutions. In addition to the above, this position also involves performing various duties related to the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and other engineering projects. Acting as a project manager, the individual will oversee construction project supervisors and inspectors to ensure that contractors are completing their work in accordance with the established agreements. Another important aspect of this role is to review projects during the design phase in order to determine the level and timing of utility involvement during the construction phase. This involves conducting on-site utility reviews as the Construction Utility Coordinator for highway construction projects. As part of the responsibilities, the individual will also be responsible for tracking, reviewing, and verifying the progress of items listed in D-419 (Utility Clearance form) and D-4181 (Utility Questionnaire Relocation and Permit Application Instructions) for all projects that are currently in the construction phase. Any issues that arise during this process will be communicated to the project ACE and PM for resolution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up on Monday and Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor; or Four years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
